About the Coptic Orthodox Church
The Coptic Church was founded by St. Mark the Evangelist in the city of Alexandria, Egypt approximately 43 A.D. St. Mark is the first Pope of the Coptic Orthodox faith. The church adheres to the Nicene Creed established by St. Athanasius “the defender of the faith” (296-373 A.D.), the twentieth Pope of the Coptic Church.
